Company History
It all began when...
RMA began in 1981 when our CEO, Roy Mohammad, formed a high-end landscaping company, serving private sector clients throughout Orange County, CA. Pursuing his passion of landscaping, design, estimating, and business development, Roy quickly turned RMA into a turnkey landscape and hardscape company.
RMA on the move.
As the Company gained valuable experience, RMA expanded its clientele and services to the commercial, industrial, and city sectors, then began serving the federal government as a subcontractor. RMA also expanded its customer and user base geographically to all of California, Utah and the Western United States. In 1999, RMA became an 8(a), MBE, DBE certified small business.
RMA ventured to new territories.
For the past 11 years, RMA has been a prime contractor for the federal government, consistently exceeding client expectations in quality, safety, and overall performance. RMA expanded our services to include design-build, new construction, heavy and civil construction, in-house electrical capabilities, and environmental services nationwide.
In 2005, RMA had a breakthrough year, expanding clientele and services across the nation. RMA capitalized on a significant opportunity as a first responder after Hurricane Katrina. Sending in-house tradesmen across the nation in response to the Hurricane, RMA immediately began work at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station in New Orleans, Louisiana. This award-winning project contributed significantly to RMA taking off in the federal sector.
In 2006, RMA entered into an SBA-approved Mentor-Protégé relationship with URS, one of the world's largest global engineering, construction and environmental firms. This strategic partnership helped RMA expand into many new territories and hit the ground running in the design-build arena.
In 2006, RMA was recently ranked #112 as one of Inc. 500's Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies, won the National Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction, and was honored as the Small Business Contractor of the Year for the Los Angeles District.
RMA Today
Today, RMA has more than 150 employees and offices throughout the Western and Pacific Regions. Through strategic partnerships and in-house capabilities, RMA can perform all aspects of design-build, construction and environmental remediation, nationwide and worldwide.

In addition, RMA has maintained an average of 45 projects over the past five years, all completed with zero claims, terminations of any kind, and without a single safety incident. Notably, RMA has not had a single lost-time incident since our inception in 1981.
