DESIGN-BUILD DEMOLISH AND CONSOLIDATE
NAVAL WARFARE CENTER

Customer: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Southwest Division
Location: Point Mugu, Ventura, CA

RMA Land Construction, Inc. (RMA) is performing as the prime contractor on the design and construction to replace current facilities at the Naval Warfare Center - Weapons Division (NAWC-WD) laboratories located within the Naval Warfare Center, Point Mugu, Ventura, CA.

RMA is renovating three (3) buildings and providing demolition and disposal of 16 buildings with a total of 101,323 SF of excess building space. This effort consolidates the NAWC-WD from outdated Cold-War era facilities into upgraded code-compliant laboratory complexes utilizing existing vacant spaces. As the current missions begin to consolidate into renovated spaces, the facilities they occupy will be vacated and RMA will demolish the excess space.

RMA is integrating sustainable strategies and features into the design to minimize the energy consumption of the facilities, conserve resources, and reduce the total cost ownership using a whole building life cycle approach. RMA is coordinating closely with the owner and end-users to identify all potential interruption factors on the construction schedule, ensuring minimal interference with on-going operations.

This project is currently progressing on schedule.
