The ECC-RMA, LLC Joint Venture (JV) is performing on the Replace Roofing effort for the Veterans Affairs (VA) San Diego Healthcare System, San Diego, CA, with URS as Designer of Record. This project consists of 131,800 SF of roof replacement at three buildings at the VA San Diego Medical Center in La Jolla. The JV is providing demolition and removal of architectural, roofing, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical systems and utility services; and replacement with new thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing and all other materials. This is the seed Task Order for ID/IQ Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for Construction Services, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build projects for the USACE, South Pacific Division, also awarded to the ECC-RMA JV.
With hospital patients directly below many of the work areas, in a fully-operational, large, complex medical facility, in which all mechanical equipment must function uninterrupted, the JV is providing temporary duct work to isolate the air-born dust caused from demolition in proximity to AC intake, installation of special filtering systems, and systems to keep debris wet to minimize dust.
The project is currently progressing within budget, and with zero lost-time safety incidents.
