RENOVATE AND REPAIR BACHELOR ENSLISTED QUARTERS POST HURRICANE KATRINA

Customer: U.S. Department of the Navy, via subcontract with ASSET Group, Inc.
Location: Belle Chasse Naval Air Station, New Orleans, LA

RMA worked on this fast-tracked project directly following Hurricane Katrina, to repair and renovate 211 of the 219 Bachelor Enlisted Quarter (BEQ) rooms that were damaged and mold-infested. Water had flooded the first floors of the BEQs, while the second and third floors were damaged by wind and water.

Our scope of work included demolition if not repairable, insulation/drywall put-back, replacement of large sections of 3rd story roof overhangs, removal of heavily damaged cabinets, construction and installation of new cabinets, and refurbishing and replacement of interior finishes, including plumbing, fixtures, tile, electrical, carpeting, painting, and texturing.

All work was completed on time, within budget and with zero safety incidents. RMA received a commendation letter for this project.
