RMA Land Construction, Inc. (RMA) performed as the prime contractor on the removal of existing dual-bed demineralizers and chemical storage and injection systems in the Steam Power Plant, Building 900 at Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton, WA. This project required installing new demineralized (DM) water feed controls, new piping system to direct reverse-osmosis (RO) reject water to the Sinclair Inlet outfall pipe in Building 912, and modifying a pump discharge in Building 912 to direct water from the Primary Equalization Basin directly outside Building 912.
Located on a secure naval base, the facility was occupied 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All construction activities were treated as critical and RMA maintained the highest level of compliance. Additionally, work was coordinated with on-going operations in the immediate areas, including NSB parking lots and the NSB contractor equipment storage yard. Mitigation measures were implemented to avoid disruption to on-going base activities and adjacent contractors.
This project was completed on-time, within budget, and with zero safety incidents.
